Beyond Disposal: A Smarter Plan for Waste Management
Lincoln Parish has begun developing a Solid Waste Master Plan (SWMP), a long-term strategy that will guide how waste is collected, managed, and diverted in our community over the next 20 years. Along
with an evaluation of the current waste management system, the plan will outline improvements to operations, facilities, programs, technologies, and communication and outreach.
Modernization
A system will be put in place to address shortcomings, increase sustainability, and ensure efficiency.
Service Enhancement
This plan includes features that will create better waste management sites, attempt to reduce littering and illegal dumping, and expand existing services
Public Knowledge
Improvements are included that aim to increase the public’s awareness and understanding of waste services, rules, and recycling options.
